What materials do I need to create a Silicone Gel-Filled Appliance?

A gel-filled silicone makeup appliance can be made out of either a 2-part mold or a flat open mold. Materials recommended:

  • Encapsulator Material: You can either make a silicone membrane with a material like our Dragon Skin™ FX-Pro, or you can use a "cap" plastic like our Q-Ballz™ that can be dissolved with acetone for blending edges.
  • Silicone Gel: You can either create a silicone gel filler by adding Slacker™ Tactile Mutator to Dragon Skin silicone, or you can use our Ecoflex™ GEL.
  • Silc Pig™ silicone pigment is used to add intrinsic color to the silicone gel or membrane.
  • Skin Tite™ skin-safe adhesive is used to adhere the appliance to the skin.
